Ultramax 600 Water Heater

The Ultramax 600 ranges of condensing direct gas fired water heaters and condensing swimming pool boilers are variants of the highly successful and popular R600 Condensing Gas Fired Central Heating Boilers.

With 7 models in each of the types ranges, and outputs up to 539kW, these appliances are class leading not only in power but also in efficiency, low emissions and power to weight/size.

Utilising a heat exchanger and water ways that are fabricated totally from high grade stainless steel, these state-of-the-art heaters are designed to operate with direct water or swimming pool water without the need for intermediate heat exchangers or hydraulic separation.

The burner system which employs a water-cooled down firing premix arrangement, not only accords exceptionally high combustion efficiency but also has extremely low environmental impact with Nox emissions at just 35mg/kWh @ 0% O2.

Applications

Water Heaters (Ultramax 600WH)
The nominal operating temperature rise across the Ultramax 600WH Water Heater is 17°C (Δt 17K), thus the appliance is typically used in conjunction with a buffer storage vessel where the water is constantly circulated between the heater and the buffer until the desired stored water temperature is achieved.

Bypass Water Heaters (Ultramax 600WHB)
An alternative to the standard model is the water heater with an internal by-pass, where this variant can deliver instantaneously heated water at a Δt higher than 17K (normally used for industrial processes or car wash plant etc). Note: As the heat exchanger water ways are constantly flushed with fresh supply water, there are limitations to the maximum operating temperature of the water heaters (described above) relative to the hardness of the water supply.

Swimming Pool Boiler (Ultramax 600SP)
The swimming pool boiler should be installed in parallel with the main flow of water from the filter going into the pool. The Ultramax 600SP operates with a Δt15K, thus only a proportion of the main flow volume is passed through the boiler as the nominal pool Xt will normally be in the order of 3K. When used to efficiently heat swimming pool water, the Ultramax 600SP is limited to a maximum flow temperature of 36°C for safety reasons.
